Position responsibilities
Conducts legal research to support cases and transactions. Under guidance, this VA finds relevant case law, statutes, or regulations and summarises findings for the lawyer, which is especially useful for building arguments or staying updated on legal developments.
Our legal research VAs can handle everything below and more:
- Research case law and statutes on specific legal questions using online databases, identifying precedents that support the client’s position.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and new laws in relevant practice areas, briefing the lawyer on anything that might impact ongoing cases.
- Fact-check legal documents (briefs, memoranda) by verifying that all cited cases and laws are quoted accurately and remain good law, ensuring the integrity of filings.
